FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Out of Network Benefits & Reimbursement
-
Q: Do you accept my insurance?
-
A: While I do not directly bill insurance companies, I am considered an out-of-network provider. This means that if your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, you may be able to receive reimbursement for a portion of your therapy costs.

-
Q: How does out-of-network reimbursement work?
-
A: Here's a general outline:
-
You would pay my full fee at the time of each session.
-
I will provide you with a detailed invoice (also known as a superbill) that includes all the information your insurance company needs.
-
You would then submit this superbill to your insurance company.
-
Your insurance company would process your claim and, if approved, reimburse you directly for the portion of the fee covered by your plan.

-
"Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services?"
-
"What percentage of the therapist's fee is covered?"
-
"Is there a deductible I need to meet before I can receive reimbursement?"
-
"Are there any limits on the number of sessions covered per year?"

I specialize in providing affirming therapy for individuals navigating a range of neurodivergent experiences. This includes, but is not limited to, autistic individuals, those with ADHD, sensory processing differences, C-PTSD and other forms of neurodivergence. I also work with LGBTQIA+ folks, and those with other marginalized identities and experiences. I am committed to providing trauma-informed care that acknowledges and addresses the impact of trauma on mental well-being. I also address co-occurring concerns, such as anxiety and depression. My practice is grounded in the neurodiversity paradigm, which emphasizes the inherent value of all neurological differences.

How does virtual therapy/telehealth work?
-
I offer virtual therapy (telehealth) sessions, which allow you to receive therapy from the comfort of your own space. All you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection. I use a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform to ensure your privacy and confidentiality. Before your first virtual session, I will provide you with simple instructions on how to access the platform.

Why groups?
-
Group therapy provides a unique opportunity to connect with others who share similar experiences. Groups can offer a sense of community, reduce feelings of isolation, and provide diverse perspectives. It's a space to learn new coping skills, practice communication, and receive support in a safe and confidential setting. Please note that group therapy sessions may not always be reimbursed by insurance. Clients should check with their individual insurance provider for more information about their out-of-network benefits for group therapy
